Attending a classical music concert is not a common social or family activity for most Taiwanese, especially for those who are not used to attending cultural events. In Chimei Museum, the Walk-In Orchestra gallery space is designed so that visitors without musical background can easily obtain a basic knowledge of the diverse musical instruments in an orchestra and have a chance to act as a conductor, trying to harmonize the entire orchestra. It is hoped that by getting to know the composition of an orchestra through this Walk-in Orchestra interactive space, more children and families in Taiwan will find the motivation to listen to classical music or even go to a classical music concert.
