In 2013, the Taoyuan City Daxi Wood Art Ecomuseum began promoting a network of Corner Museums in the town of Daxi, mobilizing as partner residents who care about preserving and showcasing local culture. All manner of locations have become partner corner museums of the Ecomuseum: wood art display venues, shops, schools, workshops, and wood factories. What they have in common is that they all have stories to tell and memories to preserve, and they all want to use learning and collective action to effect change. By building contacts with these corner museums, the Ecomuseum is recording the stories of Daxi residents and at the same time guiding them to reflect on their social responsibilities. In the future, the network will be expanded to include individuals through co-learning action plans. In this way, individuals and small businesses with spare space can also contribute to shaping a vision and implementing the action plan. When people come to corner museums, they will see a more diverse and vital Daxi.
